The 3rd edition of HIVE was a great success, featuring an amazing audience and a growing community of artists. We were happy to host over 600 guests who came together to celebrate short films.
A key highlight was our theme "Unbound," which explored the complexities of belonging and detachment in the context of migration.
One thematic selection, named "Displaced," was curated by the renowned Berlin-based curator Florian Wüst, while another was curated by our team and presented on Saturday evening. These selections provided deep insights into migration narratives, engaging our community with thought-provoking content.
In addition to the film screenings, Sirin Fulya Erensoy, a post-doctoral fellow at Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, conducted a workshop titled "Activism, Empowerment, and Change: Exploring Audio-Visual Media." This workshop delved into the historical and contemporary use of audio-visual media for political activism, enriching the festival's content and its interactive approach. We are very happy that the 3rd edition of HIVE not only showcased exceptional films but also facilitated meaningful discussions and learning opportunities, making it a memorable event.
